About This Site

Disaster response coalitions help congregations respond to crises together. Local congregations represent the largest army of volunteers in any community. When they work together, they are a difference-maker in disaster response and can transform their communities.

Most congregations do not have the expertise, staff, or resources to engage in long-term recovery efforts. We hope that the resources on this site will help unite, empower, and mobilize congregations to respond to the needs of their communities when disaster strikes.

Additional resources are added frequently. All resources allow for feedback as to their usefulness, so please provide your feedback and let us know of any additional resources you recommend adding to the site.

Crisis is the microwave that turns “doing a good thing” into a transformative event for all those involved.

We unite, empower, and mobilize churches to expedite recovery and respond to future disasters. After Harvey, church leaders across Greater Houston joined together to launch Houston Responds, and to date, 200+ churches have united in local networks to fulfill this mission. LEARN MORE
